Do you want to join our exciting Keywork team and help families across East Sussex? Apply below to join us and become part of our ambitious and successful Early Help 0-19 service.

Working in the keyworker role you will be responsible for supporting children, young people and their families to overcome the barriers to attending school on a regular basis, developing confidence and resilience for the family by delivering a range of interventions with families on your caseload. You will complete assessments with each family and develop an Early Help Plan that identifies clear and measurable targets. You will then work closely with family members providing targeted support to assist them to make the changes identified in the Plan.

You will coordinate and deliver tailored packages of support for a caseload of families with complex needs, acting as the lead professional to help families resolve conflict and prevent family breakdown. Work collaboratively with all family members to assess needs and develop comprehensive support plans that reflect individual circumstances, equality and diversity considerations, and include clear, measurable goals agreed upon by the family. Deliver evidence-based, bespoke interventions that are flexible and creative, within the family home or virtually, using a range of approaches including motivational interviewing and solution-focused techniques. Liaise closely with partner agencies to provide a coordinated response that safeguards families, maximises the effective use of resources, and supports sustainable positive change.

We are looking for candidates who have:

  • QCF level 3 qualification in a relevant subject related to working with children, young people, and families.
  • Ability to assess risk and protection factors, identify safeguarding concerns, seeking management guidance when appropriate.
  • Experience of working with vulnerable families.
  • An understanding of the broad needs and issues affecting the families of children and young people who are not accessing education and who may be engaged in risk taking activities.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, outside of office hours, including evenings and during school holidays.
