Location: CrossCountry Trains (Birmingham and Hybrid working arrangement)

About the Role
As a Revenue Management Analyst, you will play a pivotal role in driving the commercial success of CrossCountry Trains while enhancing the customer experience. This is a unique opportunity to manage a key CrossCountry route, influence strategic decisions, and pioneer innovative revenue management techniques that directly shape how thousands of passengers travel every day.

Key Responsibilities
Effectively managing price and seat availability, interpreting short term demand and supply data to adjust availability of discounted ticket quotas to maximise revenue and minimise overcrowding (inventory control, or yield/revenue management)
Extract and interpret key data available to identify opportunities and areas of improvement for your assigned route. Propose actions to mitigate risks and capitalise on opportunities, implementing strategies and perform monitoring.
Use revenue management systems to manage and automate business policies for a portfolio of trains in terms of loadings, reservations, revenue, and competition, including managing performance against agreed targets and performance indicators.
Review feedback on crowding and reservations from wider business and implement actions, as necessary.
Assist in producing weekly and periodic reporting to be shared internally within the wider commercial team as well as externally within the organisation.
Act as a commercial partner for a region, providing insight and recommendations as well as gathering feedback and suggestions on how to improve revenue in that area.
About You
Essential Skills and Experience
A strong understanding of revenue management concepts, theories, techniques, and related systems.
Experience of presenting and communicating numerical information in a simple and powerful manner to a wide audience.
Excellent analytical skills with experience working with large datasets, meeting KPIs, and identifying trends and opportunities.
Good understanding of Microsoft Office products such as Power BI and other analytical and statistical tools like Tableau.
Demonstrated understanding of SQL, with good working knowledge of Python for data processing, analysis, and workflow automation.
Good communicator and ability to work alone or as part of a team.
Proactive, commercially minded, and passionate about data-driven revenue optimisation.
Desirable Skills and Experience:
Undergraduate on a business, statistics, or operational degree course.
Understanding of revenue management concepts, theories and techniques, and related systems.
Understanding of railway geography and pricing strategies.
