Technical Consultant - Project Delivery

East Sussex County Council is seeking a highly motivated Technical Consultant to join our IT & Digital (IT&D) team. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in delivering and supporting technology solutions that enable critical public services across the county.

As a Technical Consultant, you will work closely with business stakeholders, project teams, suppliers, and technical specialists to design, implement, and improve digital and technology services. You will support Project Managers and Stakeholders during various IT&D projects varying from major infrastructure changes to property moves.

We are looking for candidates who:

1. Enjoy working on a varied range of IT and digital projects, helping to turn business requirements into practical technology solutions.

2. Can take ownership of technical work packages, planning and delivering tasks to agreed timescales, standards and outcomes.

3. Are confident problem-solvers, able to investigate technical issues, identify solutions and know when to escalate appropriately.

4. Communicate clearly with both technical and non-technical colleagues, adapting their approach to suit different audiences.

5. Build positive working relationships across teams, services and suppliers, supporting a joined-up and professional approach to project delivery.

6. Want to use their technical skills to make a visible difference, supporting council services and improving the experience of staff and users.
