Veterinary Care Assistant

About the Practice

Medivet Littlehampton is a well-established small animal practice with a loyal client base and a friendly, collaborative team. You'll work alongside experienced Veterinary Surgeons, a Head Registered Veterinary Nurse, and a Student Veterinary Nurse, gaining exposure to a varied medical and surgical caseload.

We pride ourselves on delivering exceptional patient care whilst creating a welcoming environment for both our clients and our team. No two days are the same, making this a fantastic role for someone who enjoys variety and being hands-on.

The Role

As a Veterinary Care Assistant, you'll play an essential role in the smooth running of the practice and the care of our patients.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Providing exceptional care and support to our patients throughout their stay.
• Assisting the veterinary surgeons and nursing team with day-to-day clinical activities.
• Preparing patients for procedures and supporting post-operative care.
• Monitoring hospitalised patients under the guidance of the clinical team.
• Walking, feeding, cleaning and providing enrichment for inpatients.
• Preparing, cleaning and maintaining clinical equipment and consulting rooms.
• Maintaining high standards of cleanliness and infection control throughout the practice.
• Dispensing medications under veterinary direction.
• Supporting client care and ensuring every client receives a warm, professional welcome.
• Helping ensure the practice meets all clinical, operational and regulatory standards.

Previous experience working with animals or within a veterinary practice would be advantageous but isn't essential—we value enthusiasm, compassion and a positive attitude just as highly.

We welcome applications from candidates able to prioritise, remain calm under pressure and who are flexible and willing to learn.

This role is not suitable for young workers in line with Health and Safety Executive (government) direction due to the expected duties of the role. Therefore, you will be asked to confirm that you are over the age of 18 as part of the application process.
