Are you looking for an administrative role supporting vulnerable children into schools? Do you have the people skills to manage difficult conversations with families and schools colleagues? If so, the Admissions and Transport Officer role may be for you.

In this post you will work as part of a busy team which allocates school places to young people and assesses home to school transport entitlement and free school meal eligibility. Colleagues in Admissions and Transport work together to ensure that all children within East Sussex are offered a school place if they need one. We also offer help with free school meals and home to school transport to those children and young people who qualify for this assistance. We encourage team members to help one another to make this happen.

You will need to be confident in written and spoken English, with good communication skills and the resilience to maintain your position in the face of challenge. You will need to be confident in the legal knowledge you acquire, and able to communicate regulations to the public verbally and in writing.

We are looking for someone with:
